STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) learning at Hawthorndene PS is underpinned by the philosophy that our students will grow and develop into the agents for change for the future. Across our learning programme, students in every year level develop the skills, proficiencies and knowledge that provide a strong foundation to interpret and understand the world around us.
This together with our culture that nurtures and values the dispositions and attributes of powerful learners, we provide all students with opportunities to apply their learning to solve authentic, real-world challenges.
Through the support of a dedicated STEM education leader, our students and classroom teachers are able to access and utilise a range of digital technology applications such as robotics and 3D printing. Students are also supported to connect their school based learning with contemporary education and industry excellence, via a network of STEM professionals that link with our learning programmes.
