Hawthorndene OSHC
Philosophy
At Hawthorndene OSHC, we aim to be an extension of the home environment; creating a welcoming, safe and nurturing space where all people feel a strong sense of belonging and community. Every child, family and educator brings with them a unique set of strengths, experiences and perspectives and we warmly welcome people from all backgrounds into our service.
We respectfully acknowledge that at Hawthorndene OSHC we are living, learning and playing on the Traditional Lands of the Kaurna People. Our service is committed to meaningfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the environment and our programming.
Children are the heart of our program, and we value their diversity as a source of richness to inform the structure of our high-quality play-based learning experiences. Through understanding the children’s needs and interests, we foster the development of autonomy, independence and resilience on their path to becoming active global citizens.
Our educators are passionate, professional, and dedicated to building strong, respectful relationships with children and families. We actively collaborate with families, the school, and the broader community to create a consistent, inclusive and supportive environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of every child. We are committed to continuous improvement and reflective practice, ensuring our service evolves to meet the changing needs of our children and the community.
Together, these values shape our community: Belonging, Community, Inclusion, Respect and Wellbeing
Location The OSHC building is located at the far South-west corner of the school grounds. Best access is via Cunard Drive (see our big blue OSHC sign) with a path leading to our front door.
