Welcome to Hawthorndene Primary School. The school is committed to developing students who are confident, resilient, respectful and aspire to learn.

There is a strong emphasis on developing strong literacy and numeracy skills. This forms the foundation for a balanced program that includes Physical Education, Performing Arts and Japanese as our language other than English.
Teachers use an inquiry based approach to a transdisciplinary program based on the Australian Curriculum. They are encouraged and supported to be inquirers by planning in teams, reflecting, coaching and seeking professional development opportunities that support the annual site improvement plan.

Creating critical and creative thinking underpins curriculum decision making. This aligns to the schools powerful learner attributes, dispositions which are encouraged in all students.

Our community is very supportive of the school, and is involved in many aspects from classroom support and excursions to school sport and fundraising by the parents and friends.
